"Great TV" 2010-04-13
By M. Summers
This TV has a really clear picture. It's almost like being there. I haven't tried the 3-D option yet but the HD has shown to be super so far in itself. The sound on it was actually really good, even without a surround sound system on it. Definately worth the money.

"Awesome but not perfect" 2010-04-02
By Platiniumshadow (orange park, fl)
Well, i had this tv for about a month now and i love it. This tv is money well spent, picture quality on this thing is pretty good. To my eyes only LED tv's will top the video. The preset setting are crap, I strongly sugget to calibrate this tv, I have calibrationd equipment and I could tell you that the default setting are WAY OFF, almost 20% excess blue plus too much brightness. But once you get the picture were it need to be you will be saying WOW. This tv got plenty of adjusments on the advanced section. Modern warfare 2 looks so good in this.

Now for the bad! this tv is best when in front, the steeper the angle the more faded the image and the tv sits lower than i would like to in order to get the best image. the control could have been designed better, you have to play with it for a while to know what leads to what. The spekers sound like the 9.99 walmart pc speakers.

If you are on a budget and want to jump on the BIG HDTV screen wagon this may be your ticket, but i sugget you check it out on a show room then make your decision, the fact that i love it don't mean that you will.

"Huge but not perfect" 2010-03-16
By Jacob Niehus (Tucson, AZ)
I am happy with this TV. The picture is huge and beautiful. However, I want to point out a few negative aspects of this television that I haven't seen mentioned much in other reviews.

- Overscan. This TV has significant overscan, meaning about 5% of the picture (linearly) is outside the limits of the display. This is not a problem for most TV shows and video games, but can be a problem when hooked up to a computer. If the resolution is set to 1920x1080, a large part of an application's title bar as well as the taskbar is cut off, in addition to the scroll bar on the right side of the display. My laptop lets me run at a slightly lower resolution (1824x1020) which prevents these things from being cut off.

- Distortion. There is some distortion of the picture at the top and bottom of the display. A horizontal line at the stop of the screen, for example, will bend up at the ends. I have gone into the service menu of the TV but wasn't able to improve the picture. Again, not an issue for TV and games, but annoying for a computer.

- Blur. Because the TV uses rear projection, individual pixels are pretty blurry. This is usually not noticeable in TV shows and games, but reading text from a computer can be headache-inducing.

- Dark spots. There are two dark spots in two different areas of the display. There are only visible when a light solid color is displayed, but the spots still bother me just knowing they're there.

Again, I like the TV a lot. I just want to point out some flaws that aren't mentioned often so people aren't surprised when they get the TV. In particular, it is not well-suited at all for use as a computer display.

"Great TV" 2010-03-13

Best TV I have ever had including the plasma in my bedroom. The four stars is for the dark blind remote that has no backlighting. The Button labels are in gray which is impossible to read even in the light. Come on Mitsubishi, see any HP product to visulize how buttons should be accomplished!

"Not user friendly" 2010-01-15
By dog pound (ocean state)
not a universal remote. it does not control other boxes. you must buy a ir emitter cable not included with tv. i have to use cable remote to control cable dvr box. have to use av remote to control volume, etc. this is crazy. my 20 year old mitsubushi remote controled it. there are better tv's out there.
